By: Ryan Barnosky May’s Art Student of the Month is senior, Savanna Solla. Currently Savanna is in AP Art, but she’s taken various other art classes offered at WHS including: Art 1: Foundations in Art, Art 2 and 3: Photography, and Art 2,3, and 4: Drawing and Painting, and AP Studio Art for Drawing. Savanna says her favorite class to take is, “AP Art, because it has more freedom than other art classes.” Free drawing on her own is also much different than having guidelines required in most classrooms. For the most part Savanna thinks art will always be a hobby, but she’s not sure if it could be in her future career.
In her free time Savanna is a part of WHS’s girls volleyball and lacrosse team. She is still undecided on a college, but thinks Post University will be promising. And she also still isn’t sure what career path she is going to follow.

Anthony Vanderight is the February Student of the Month at Watertown High School for the Science Department. His initial response to this reward was, “Wow” because he didn’t expect to receive this award. He thinks he was selected because, throughout his first year at WHS, he participates and answers lots of questions in classes. Outside of school, he enjoys football and drumming for the Brooklyn Knights in Waterbury. After high school, he wants to study Psychology and become a Psychologist because the way the mind works is interesting to him. Anthony also wants to spread kindness to students at WHS and advises students to “Be nice”. to others. By: Madison Migiano
