Jessica Stango was selected by the Career and Technical Education Department as the Junior Student of the Month, for March of 2020. She was flattered by the selection and said that it was definitely unexpected. Currently, she is taking Yearbook and Graphics at Watertown High and says she loves both the “creative freedom” and how “Yearbook uses the skills I learned in Graphics to design the pages.” As for Jessica’s free time, she likes to spend it working stage crew for the school’s performances, taking part in link crew and working at a daycare. Jessica also plays volleyball at Northwest YMCA and coaches fourth and fifth graders for the same sport. The skills learned in school have been used by Jess outside of the school environment as well. She has designed t-shirts for her volleyball team and loves seeing how the technical skills she knows can be used in the real world. Looking to the future, Jessica doesn’t know what she wants to study after high school but it will most likely involve environmental science or graphic design; and as of now her top choice for college is UConn where Jess hopes to one day play for their volleyball team.
